We have a hyper x product and this is the HyperX cloud two gaming headset. It’s the Perot Gaming headset. This headset does come in two colours. As you see we have a red and black year. It also comes in a silver and black model and they range give or take around 80 to a hundred bucks. Pennell, where you buy from and what the current sale is. But it was what I do is bring you and show you the headset first, then I’ll be back with you. What kind of talk about it. Talk about some pros, cons, what I think about it, whatnot and get our conclusion and talk about is it worth that $80 to $100 dollars and I’ll be right back with you.
You get two sets of ear cups as you saw in the close-ups right there. You have this one, a velvet, you know, a typeset right here. And then you have this pleather set. I highly recommend you’re sticking with the pleather set. It holds in a lot more sound. You get a little bit of, sadly, not saying it’s bad with these, but it sounds a lot better with the pleather ones.
Now you get the mic over here and the mic does come with a windscreen on it. So a nice little touch there as well. Knocked the set down a few bucks and keep that out of there. But anyway, it’s a little aeroplane adapter, whatever. There is a USB Adapter and real quick before any further, this only works on PC and PS4. It does not work on as Xbox. But again, the headset is three-point so you can plug it into your switch, your mobile or your Xbox controller. If you have the newer updated controller, you can control your volume up or down your mic up or down.
Activate the surround sound right on the headset, it then lights up red whenever it is activated. And then you have your little mic mute switch over on the other side and then you have a clip on the bottom. If you want to just, you know, just clip it right on and be all pro-life. Considering we’re using the HyperX cloud core pro, you better look pro, but also the USB on this guy is a heavy, heavy-duty braided cable, like a nice heavy-duty. So you don’t gotta worry about crimping or pinching this guy when it’s hanging on the floor. But it is long. Then you also have the cable on the headset, which is how it connects to the headset. So all in all, you have this massive long cable, so you don’t gotta worry about length. You’re good there.
All right, so now let me get all of this stuff off the table here and we’ll start talking about this stuff later on down the road when we start talking about the build and sound and stuff like that. But what I’d like to start right now is the headset and comfort, and I’d hate to start it off on this foot right here because it’s a negative. That negative I think is only for my head shape, I guess, or my comfort, you know, and maybe yours, but again, don’t take this as a negative as, hey, the headset is junk or it’s garbage or it’s no good. Again, this is a personal preference, a negative, I think, you know what I mean? In what, where I go with that, and again, this doesn’t matter what your cups, as you can see right here, I have one of each, one of the pleather in one of them, a little velvet one right there just to kind of show, you know, again, I do prefer the pleather ones that locks in the sound anyways, that’s later on.
But again, as far as that comfort, whenever you put them on right here and they fit nice, they extend out and they got some flex to them. But when you put them on that kind of headset, very similar to a Razer headset, if you used a razor headset before or any of the other hybrid ex, I mean, they’re all pretty much built the same. And what they do is they press more up top rather than the back right there. It’s hard to explain. So let’s just say it’s, you know, maybe my head shape on the back where maybe it swoops in a little bit more. So as you can see what these guys like, you’re seeing a very mild, adjustment right there when I’m trying to spin them in and out, they don’t move at all.
As far as the headset, I highly recommend you putting these on your head and maybe perfectly fine for you, but other than that little bit tight there as far as the headband, very, very cosy. I mean very nice cushioning up there. And again, the ear cups, plenty of giving them whether you go with the little velvet ones here or these pleather ones, plenty of giving and very, very soft. Now let’s go ahead and talk about build now before purchased these, I read a lot of reviews, whether it be Amazon reviews or just on other websites. And a lot of people said they’re built solid, they built like tanks, extremely durable.
I think it even says it on the hype website, but I think it’s kind of like a little illusion here, right? Because the first thing and I thought this as well when I was purchasing, you see this big old piece of metal and you’re like, okay, wow, that thing solid, right? There’s no plastic there. But where I want to catch you is right here. Sure. We got that big piece of metal and that is how it adjusts right there. So we adjust right there. But the two arms going into the little joints, they’re in plastic and then the screw that’s holding the metal into the little lever in there, the arm gets screwed into the plastic.
Take note, there are two screws over on the right-hand side, on the inside. So that piece is screwed into this piece of plastic. So you got this one big piece of metal, but again, the two arms are held on, on my plastic. And then up here, which those are our two main pressure points. Not right here, but up here and down here, whenever you’re pulling them out, right? All your pressures going up there on those two spots as you can see them go, going out and giving right there. Now again, I’m very easy on my stuff so I don’t think they’ll give way, but, I don’t by any means think they’re built like tanks, you know? , cause again, the only thing that’s metal is that guy right there. They do have a solid weight to them and they do feel solid. But again, I think this metal is a little bit of illusion and we all kind of think like, oh wow man, these things are tanks.
I just wanted to bring it out there and bring it to your attention because honestly, I think these are built just as solid as any other headset, whether we’re talking about turtle beach or Corsair or anything like that. Again, the difference between those headsets is a lot of this metal is covered up by plastic. So they go plastic and then they’re reinforced. Metal is within that plastic. When these guys just flash it right out there in the open. So again, just want to bring that to your attention and just keep that in mind. Our, so let’s get to the meat and potatoes here and let’s talk about this sound and let me tell you what these things sound awesome. I mean, they are solid no matter what you’re on. If you’re on PC, if you’re on edge, Xbox, PlayStation four, or the Nintendo switch, or just listen to music, they sound solid.
Again, I highly recommend you keeping them on the pleather ear cups, which sure might make your ears a little bit hotter, but they hold on some of that sand and they just maybe bring out that base a little bit more. When you put on these little velvet ones here, it looks a little bit of sound bleed out, but they are extremely comfortable and extremely breathable. But again, I recommend you keep it under pleather ones just to lock in some of that sound, but they come to life when you plug in this little sound card here, which connects by USB in this work on the ps four or the PC. Again, it does not work on the Xbox, but let me tell you what this thing brought this headset to life like is just absolutely amazing. And honestly, as some years know from somebody, older headset reviews, I don’t like that fake fluffy 7.1 surround sound that they say headsets.
I feel like it drops a lot of the low end and just really brings out a lot of the high end and this doesn’t do it. What it does, whenever you click that 7.1 it just feels like it just brings a bigger punch to the headset. Not saying that like heavy bass or anything, but it’s just like enhances the vol e is what it sounds like. The lows are still there. The Miz is still there and the highs are still there. Nothing’s overpowering one another. You know, it sounds very, very good with this little guy in there. Again, it sounds great with a 3.5 but you notice a massive difference with this little guy plugged in. Now, one thing I wish was on the sound card was whenever you’re adjusting your volume, like if you get to that highest volume setting, I wish it like, made a little notification sound in the headset or same with the mic if you went all the way down or all the way up, which it doesn’t.
Again, that’s just my kind of griping and complaining. I wish that was on it, but again, when you get to the Max volume, it’s just there. You don’t get any sort of notification. Now as far as the mic, as you can see right here, it is detachable. It is not connected right there so you can take it off, put it on if you please. And it does also include that nice windscreen right there, but as you see on the bottom of a headset right here, you just plug it right in there and then Bam, you are sitting is nice and solid. No matter where you put it, it stays like it does not bend back out of place or anything nice in heavy-duty.
5,037 reviews coming in at four stars. Wow, that’s pretty stinking amazing. Do you know what I mean? But it was just sort of looking into it and let’s scroll down here a bit. Where are we? Where are we? Here we go. This product has been listed on Amazon since January 23rd of 2015 so, again, don’t let that review score kind of sell yet as it did myself.
I think it’s an awesome headset, I think is completely worth that price. The sound is awesome. The mic is Amazing. The features you get with it are just incredibly solid. Again, that comfort issue, that’s my personal opinion. And maybe my just shit head shape.
You know, yours may be completely different and you might not feel that at all. So just catch me right there. I’m not bashing or hating on his headset by any mean. I think it’s solid and I think it’s completely worth that money. But again, I think there are a lot of, deceiving points in it. You know, number one, that reviews score, which sold me on my four stars at 5,000 reviews, this thing’s gotta be pretty amazing. Do you know what I mean? It’s gotta be the best headset out there with that kind of score. So again, don’t let that sell you as it did me. So my final take on the HyperX cloud two, I think it’s a great headset. I think it’s well worth that price. I’m going sound you’re getting, especially with the sound cart thing going on, PlayStation four or PC, I mean, they sound amazing.
You’ll be very happy with the sound stage. Very nice and balanced, the base again is not ear shaken by any means, but it’s there and it sounds absolutely fantastic. The mic is great. I think the bill’s decent, again, it’s not the best, you know, it’s not this full metal on set or anything, but it’s decent.
