Audio Technica have been big in the audio industry since 1962 and are hoping to make the same impact into the gaming community.
So let’s check them out, now being a wireless headset it runs on the 2.4GHz low latency wireless connection, has a virtual surround sound mode and has about 15 hours of battery use before it needs to be charged, which is quite impressive.
Now taking a closer look at the controls on the headset, we have a microphone on / off button, we have a volume and if you press that in it activates the surround sound, we have a micro-USB for charging and we have a mic-monitoring button, which allows you to hear you own voice and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love the sound of their own voice, I know I do.
Now we also have a power button and here we have the micro-USB charging cable, a spare pair of ear cups and finally the headset itself. Now it also comes with a USB transceiver that works as a sound card for the 7.1 surround sound and also helps with paring the headset. It has a detachable microphone which is a hypercardiod directional microphone.
Now taking a closer look at the headset itself they went for like an industrial sort of style, with a metal headband running across the top, it is not going to win any awards for its appearance. But we are here for sound quality and Audio Technica as always been known for their sound quality, now for all you die-hard Audio Technica fans out there you can see a clear resemblance between these and the M50X, except for the metal headband.
Now I am going to try these on, but looking at them they have sort of like a leatherette running around the ear cups and another much softer fabric on the inside.
Now they actually cup the ears very nicely, now I am not sure if I have small ears or big ears, I don’t know but they seem to feel very nice and they are actually quite light. Now I thought I would treat you all to something a little special and let you all listen to my voice, through this microphone on the headset. Now there is no doubt its quality, and let’s be honest, if you don’t want to hear me talk you could always just (click)
So there you have it Audio Technica newest headset, the ATH-G1WL and now I am really looking forward to throwing these on because I know the audio quality is going to be so impressive. It has a frequency range of 5,000 to 40,000 which means I am probably going to hear things I didn’t even know existed, stick around, and if you need more information on Audio Technica headset in the next blog post.
